Dub Lounge International is a Seattle-based 6-piece roots reggae and dub collective grounded in classic Jamaican rhythms and propelled into psychedelic, improvisational territory. Featuring rich vocal harmonies, dueling guitars, and expansive dub textures, the band fuses deep grooves with spacious, exploratory live jams. Their immersive, bass-driven performances are built for both movement and meditation — honoring reggae tradition while stretching it into new sonic dimensions, blending roots authenticity with jam-band freedom.
Backed by radio support from KEXP, KBCS, KSER, and stations across the United States, the band has become a fixture of the Pacific Northwest reggae scene. Their live shows channel the spirit of classic roots while weaving in organic dub experimentation and open-ended improvisation that draws from across the musical spectrum.
Formed in 2001 as the backing band for Winston Jarrett, the group is led by vocalist, harmonica player, and percussionist Naphtali “Tali” Rashid. With more than four decades in reggae, Rashid and Dub Lounge International have shared stages with artists including Clinton Fearon, Kabaka Pyramid, and dub master Scientist, grounding Dub Lounge International in deep-rooted tradition and lived experience.
